Average sea ice drift in the Arctic for INTAROS 2018 field experiment

Torill Hamre

Sea ice drift in the Arctic estimated using Sentinel-1 SAR, Extended Wide (EW) swath images at medium resolution (GRDM). The ice drift is based on a combination of feature tracking and pattern matching techniques.

ACOBAR travel times - Fram Strait 2010-2012

Hanne Sagen(PI), Matthew Dzieciuch, Peter Worcester, Florian Geyer,

The ACOBAR ocean acoustic tomography system consisted of three moorings with low frequency, broadband transceivers (A, B, and C) forming a triangle in the central, deep-water part of Fram Strait during 2010–2012. This data set consists of acoustic travel times and corresponding arrival angles for the entire 2011–2012 deployment using estimator-correlator processing. The kernel of the estimator correlate is optimised manually for each Receiver. Receiver DA for transmissions from A we used kernel with a bandwidth of 7.5 Hz and a coherence time of 30 s. Receiver A for transmissions from B we used kernel with a bandwidth of 2.0 Hz and a coherence time of 15 s. Receiver DA for transmissions from B we used kernel with a bandwidth of 7.5 Hz and a coherence time of 30 s.The data processing is documented in Sagen et al. 2017. The data are used either to validate the capability of ocean models to provide realistic input to acoustic models or in inversion schemes to provide mean ocean sound speed between source and receivers. Please contact the PI for access to this dataset.

NorCPM Sea Ice Thickness reanalysis dataset 2002-2021

Francois Counillon

A reanalysis extending from 2002—2021 has been produced combining the ENVISAT-CCI sea-ice thickness data until 2010 and the C2SMOS data set that combines the CRYOSAT data set and the SMOS sea-ice thickness data that is available in INTAROS Data Catalog (https://catalog-intaros.nersc.no/dataset/thickness-of-thin-sea-ice-combined-data-product-from-smos-and-smap). The dataset will be made publicly available through the NIRD Research Data Archive (https://archive.norstore.no/) after research paper is published.

Fram Strait/ACOBAR: Range and depth average sea water temperature from acoustic tomography measurements - Fram Strait - Sep 2010 - Jul 2011 and Sep 2011 - Jul 2012

Hanne Sagen

Range and depth averaged ocean sound speed and temperature obtained from the ACOBAR acoustic tomography experiment in Fram Strait. Depth and range averaged "Sound speed" between source and receiver pairs are found from observed acoustic travel times using an inversion scheme.

Fram Strait/ACOBAR: Ambient noise in water - From Strait - Aug 2010 - Jul 2011 and Sep 2011 - Jul 2012

Hanne Sagen

Time averaged sound pressure obtained from the ACOBAR acoustic experiment in Fram Strait. The data were were obtained over 362 days every 3 hours from Aug 2010 - Jul 2011, and from Sep 2011 - Jul 2012. 0-, 50- and 90- percentiles of the sound pressure and power for each frequency (0-500 Hz) were computed.

Fram Strait/ACOBAR: XBT measurements and derived values - Fram Strait - September 2010

Hanne Sagen (PI), Agnieszka Beszczynska-Møller, Florian Geyer

This dataset is comprised of XBT profiles of temperature, pressure and sound speed acquited in the Fram Strait from KV Svalbard in September 2010. There are a total of 41 profiles and 71422 observations. Two different XBT probes were used: T5 and T7, see http://www.sippican.com/contentmgr/showdetails.php/id/312 for more info on the probes.
