Pierre Rampal

Adjunct Researcher

Pierre Rampal is employed as associate scientist at the CNRS at the Institut de Géophysique de l’Environnement in Grenoble (France). His research focus is on sea ice physics, variability and forecast, and the interactions between sea ice and the other components of the climate system. While employed at the Nansen Center, he led the sea ice modelling group and initiated the development of the sea-ice model neXtSIM. In his adjunct position at the Nansen Center, Pierre supervises and teaches junior scientists and provides a strategic link with collaborators in France.
