Marianne Williams-Kerslake
PhD Fellow
Marianne Williams-Kerslake obtained her master’s degree in marine biology with oceanography at the University of Southampton, Great Britain, in 2023. She has experience in both biological and physical oceanography.
Williams-Kerslake’s research interests include polar climate research and analysing biogeochemical satellite data. She is now undertaking a PhD at the Nansen Center focusing on the prediction of marine heatwaves in the Arctic Ocean and surrounding seas. The project uses climate data derived from the NorCPM and TOPAZ models. Using the TOPAZ-ECOSMO model, the project also involves determining the impact of marine heatwaves on the lower levels of the marine food web, for example phytoplankton.
