Lasse H. Pettersson is a physical oceanographer educated at the Universities of Oslo and Bergen.

Pettersson’s research interests are studies and monitoring of marine ecosystems, harmful algal blooms and water quality in arctic and temperate ocean and coastal waters. He has extensive experience with research and application of satellite Earth observation data for ocean and sea ice studies with a focus on the environment and climate, covering applications from monitoring harmful algal blooms, sea ice navigation, to air pollution in cities.
