To address this, I am developing ClimHub, an R-based software toolbox designed to simplify the discovery, access, and processing of climate data. Currently supporting several datasets from met.no, ClimHub provides essential processing capabilities, including reprojection, cropping/masking, temporal aggregation, and data extraction and fusion. Future enhancements will extend functionality to include spatial and temporal interpolation, as well as support for additional data sources.

ClimHub emphasizes FAIR data usage by embedding accreditation metadata and ensures reproducibility through function call tracking in the data metadata. This toolbox aims to empower downstream analyses by providing efficient and user-friendly tools for handling diverse climate datasets. I would like to present the current state of ClimHub and invite feedback, testing, and collaborative development to expand and refine its functionality. Additionally, I will highlight how ClimHub and its predecessor KrigR are already being used for past, present, and future projects of NERSC.”

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ css=”.vc_custom_1695033709348{padding-right: 0px !important;}”]

When and where?

Wednesday, 29.01.25 at 11:15 – 11:55.

Copernicus lecture room, 1st floor, Nansen Center, Jahnebakken 3, Bergen

[/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″ css=”.vc_custom_1693479579188{background-color: #ffffff !important;}”][vc_column_text css=””] “Climate Data Capabilities for All – The Pipedream of Pipelines” “Climate data plays a crucial role in a wide range of scientific and practical applications, yet accessing, processing, and managing these data sources can be challenging.
