Some areas get increased warming in winter, others in summer. Some places will be wetter, others drier, and most areas will be exposed to more extreme weather.<\/p><\/div>[vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In order to understand and predict the development of climate change, measurements made via satellites and via devices on land and at sea are analyzed. When using physical models, calculations are made with high spatial accuracy. We have a particular focus on climate change in the North Atlantic and in the Arctic. The aim is to create a better understanding of which factors affect the climate, and more precise forecasting of climate developments. We also research so-called teleconnections, which are connections between climate change in regions that are far apart. It will combine Lagrangian tracking with satellite-based classification to generate a hybrid sea-ice-age algorithm, extend drift records before 1991, and integrate multi-sensor data from passive microwave and scatterometer missions. Machine learning will enhance performance under challenging conditions such as melt\u2013refreeze cycles and pancake ice regions.
