With this, different data assimilation methods can be compared, and are applicable both in research and for educational purposes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The software package &#8220;NEDAS&#8221; \u2013 Next-generation Data Assimilation System \u2013 allows researchers to test and develop new ideas for how to use data assimilation in geophysical models. The package offers a collection of different DA algorithms and allows researchers to compare new methods with already established methods.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The program package &#8220;Fortran90 EnKF&#8221; is based on the Ensemble-Kalman filter method (EnKF), a unique data assimilation method developed at the Nansen Center. The package is tailored to large amounts of data for use in ocean models. At the Nansen Center, it is used when preparing forecasts for the ocean, sea ice, and climate.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text]<div class=\"infobox teal\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For more
