Tore Furevik was hired as managing director at the Nansen Center in July 2021. He came from the position as director of the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research (period 2014 -2021). He has previously been associate professor and professor at the Department of Geophysics at University of Bergen, Norway.<\/p>\n
Furevik has a Ph.d. in physical oceanography from 1998. He has particularly researched how the sea, ice and air interact, on natural and man-made climate variations, and on the connections between changes in climate in different places on Earth.
